Always aware of how our activities might affect society and the environment, Getz group of companies is a strong believer in the need for sustainability. As a result, we put a large amount of resources into developing solutions that we can adopt, whether in recycling of packaging or energy saving or participation in environmental improvement projects.

"Getz Nordic" so far has organized several sustainable/environment friendly campaigns & social campaigns.

1. "GETZ NORDIC" SUPPORTS FIR TREE PLANTING IN LATVIA
In 2016 with the aim to improve air quality and renew timber resources, more than 1000 new spruces were planted in the territory of the regional waste management center “Daibe”. New spruce forest is also a symbolic fee of car drivers to nature so that at least a little compensate the harm caused to it by car emissions.
"Getz Nordic" declares: These little trees are not only the timber in 50 years that we are talking about here, or oxygen that these spruces will produce. Everyone who would do such a work would change attitude towards nature. This way we could repay our debt so that Latvia was a state of power not only in terms of culture, but also natural resources.

2. WINDSHIELD FLUID CAN RECYCLING PROJECT IN "NARVESEN" STORES
Started in year 2009 with the aim to motivate drivers to recycle plastic items that are used in everyday car maintenance (i.e., windshield fluid cans).
Drivers were asked to leave used windshield fluid cans in a special container that was placed by a "Narvesen" store. All cans were collected regularly and then went to re-use for windshield fluids again.
During 6 years more than 15 t plastics have been left in those containers, there was a great responsiveness for this campaign from windshield fluid users.
